A Mountain Of Crushed Ice has been on a cachaça tear lately. For your New Year's enjoyment, here's the "2009".
2009
- 1 oz cachaça
- 1 oz gin
- 0.5 oz pear syrup
- 0.4 oz lemon juice
- 1.5 oz apple juice
- 4-5 fresh basil leaves, torn
- Champagne to top
- Garnish pear slices and basil
Shake the ingredients except the champagne and pour into a tall fancy glass with cracked ice. Top with champagne and stir gently. Garnish with pear slices and fresh fragrant basil.
1 pear, chopped, a few torn basil leaves, mixed with 1:1 water and raw sugar to make a syrup. Add to pan and heat it up, stir until the sugar is dissolved and let cool. Strain and bottle.
