Saw this in the Miami Herald today, emphasis mine::
Since our own Independence Day is just a blurry fragment of a memory now, why not watch sparks fly as you celebrate another country's freedom? You can do so on Sunday when Sushi Samba throws a Brazilian Independence Day celebration beginning at 8 p.m. with live music and dancing featuring famed performer Gil Santos along with dancers and Brazilian drummers. A second show is at 9:30 p.m. On the menu: specialty cocktails such as the Bandeira, a $12 mix of pinot grigio and cachaca...
Whu? Wine? Cachaça? Together?
Today, Google proved to me that it's worth every c-note of its share price. I ended up getting the Bandeira recipe from The Vegas Eye. Here you go:
2 oz pinot grigio 1 oz cachaça 1/2 oz pineapple juice 1 lime wedge 1 lemon wedge 1 orange slice 3 kiwi slices diced kiwi diced pineapple 1 bar spoon sugarIn a glass shaker, muddle orange, lime and lemon with sugar. Add wine, cachaca and pineapple juice. Shake with ice to chill. In wine glass, line the inside with three kiwi rings. Add ice. Strain into wine glass. Top with diced kiwi and pineapple.
